It's a bright new year! We wanted to get out and make the most of it...
Watching ice skating while fine-tuning her own ensemble...
Cold rain can't keep these go-for-it gals inside.
I don't remember where we got the face painting done, but quick, to the forest with that pixie face!
We love to play outside, pink noses and all. So we decided to find our dream cabin in the woods this year. We made our wish and slipped the wish note inside a red envelope as part of our twist on Chinese New Year traditions. We made a flyer listing our requirements: fresh water source, within 2 hours of Portland, no visible neighbors, in mixed forest (no tree farms), lots of wildlife, etc. Then we packed up and ventured N, S and E to post our flyer in general stores. We also posted a wanted ad on Craigslist for the Portland area/Gorge. These are some exploring pics...
Max took Sunny to Daddy Daughter Night at the SW Community Center. She got some more mileage out of the famous flower girl pouf dress from Nauntie & Sean's wedding. There was food, games, dancing, a movie - they had a blast and are making this date an annual tradition.
Buddies: Olivia and Sunny being silly, as always.
Loving on Uncle Josh & Daddy
This is the "I am so thrilled this cat hasn't escaped from my princess fort yet - quick, leave, Mom, before she sees the exit" face.
Oh the magic of snow falling outside our very own house. And it fell, and it fell...Grandma and Grandpa would not be stopped, and they snowplowed their way to us for a winter wonderland visit.
This is the park, believe it or not - that's legitimate accumulation!
We made shave ice from the freshest powder, because, WHY NOT?! That's homemade berry syrup drizzled on top, with condensed milk. Local style, ya?
I've been looking for that apron, Grandpa! Makin' breakfast muffins together. More snow pics of the homestead follow.
Make no mistake: that's just Sunny's fort, not an ADU.
It was perfect hot tubbing weather, thanks to the "tea house" to keep snow and falling squirrel dreys off our heads.
Puddles and Hayward preferred the duck house while Hello Kitty Fishy and Darkwing patrolled the run and tried to swim on the frozen duck pond.

Can't wait for it to snow again!
