Sunny arrived on Thursday, June 11th, at 7:13 PM. She weighed in at 7 lbs. 8 oz. and measured 20.5" long. Labor went much quicker than we thought it would. We arrived at 2:45 at OHSU in transition and already 8 cm dilated. JJ did most of the hard work at home on the yoga ball in the family room, where our cat Chia jumped on her back to provide support. JJ was a trooper through labor, laughing and cracking jokes throughout and impressing the birthing team with her humor and good attitude. It was an exhilarating experience and we're glad to be home now with our happy, healthy Sunny. More to come!(Posted by Max)

What a lovely little family you are. We enjoyed holding\loving\bonding with little Sunny so much this weekend. But it was also heartwarming to see our daughter, and Max, parenting with so much love and care. Kelly is the Sunny Whisperer, and Grandma Sharon was incredible steady and calm late-night support on the nursing challenges. We just all folded Sunny into the fam.
ReplyDeleteAnd she seems to have the right name.....if I don't get a whole lot of food for three days or so, I am screamin' 24\7, but Sunny still would sleep for three or four hours at a time. Good stuff. Beautiful child.
