October's Hello-Kitty-Fairy-Princess Escapades

Making apple crisp at Uncle Sean and Nauntie's house: that's a curl of apple peel between them.
A typical scene in our living room. My roommates are nuts.
Dress-up (current favorite activity!) with her best friend Olivia.
 Blanket-arranging (2nd favorite activity)...
Dress-up, again. To give you an idea of Sunny's reverence for a well-appointed wardrobe: she saw me folding my colorful underwear the other day (most of my underwear is black, white or beige). She exclaimed, "Oh, Mama! You have beautiful panties now.  NOW we can be friends!" I guess I need more fairies and hello kitties on my underwear to move to the A-list.
Roasting marshmallows just because, in our backyard!
Experiments in fashion and self-expression: my old coonskin cap, a headband with a bow, fairy wings, my old fairy dress and a random sash of shiny fabric.

We called these her "first big-girl skinned knees," and suddenly she was proud and smiling!
Baby Claudia visited from Alaska: cute times.
My birthday tradition: a trip to farms to celebrate the fall harvest season.

It was a fun surprise to discover that the heroine's name (of the corn maze adventure) was "Sunny!"

Quiet special playtimes with Grandma during her visit...

Pure joy - swing games with Daddy.
Halloween adventures with her class: that's mine, the Hello-Kitty-Fairy-Princess against the wall, 2nd from the right.  You know you have a preschool aged daughter when your little trick-or-treater is a Hello-Kitty-Fairy-Princess!

Horsing around at the Halloween Party.
Another harvest party, this time on Sauvie Island.  Sunny was enchanted with this tiny green frog we found.  She had it for at least 30 minutes - she carried it carefully, passed it amongst her friends, and then released it into the grass, totally unharmed.

Trick or treating with Olivia: buddies!

We paid a surprise trick-or-treat visit to cousin Corinne and Uncle LJ...
And then we found Auntie Jodie as she returned from her walk!
Finally, we stopped by Popo and Daddo's house. Their neighborhood is so popular each Halloween that they may as well stand on the porch to pass candy to the hordes, never sitting down. Then we drove home and Sunny ate as much candy as she could (the equivalent of about 4 suckers, 2 candy bars and a dozen small treats).  Our deal is that all the rest of the candy goes in the trash the next morning
