Nope, I'm not pregnant again. Sunny turns 2 years old tomorrow! Can you believe it? In some ways it seems like it's about time, since she's growing so fast. But I can easily remember when she was a helpless squishy bundle...was that so long ago? Our big girl is very excited to open the presents that are starting to appear around the house...When I first got back from Bhutan, we dined in the sky to celebrate: Portland City Grill!

Sunny loves to taste the water at every Benson Bubbler fountain downtown.
Warm weather finally returned, so Sunny's been soaking up the sunshine on every square inch of her squishy little self.
Running the bases in style - that's our girl!
Streakin' and shriekin' to the playground...
Bike ride adventure at Champoeg State Park.
Fun with Aubrey during our little BBQ.

Visiting me at my office - Sunny got down to business with a calculator, pens and paper.
"2-rassic" Dinosaur Birthday invitations to deliver and Daddy coming home - how exciting.
Just like Sunny @ Cannon Beach.
Uncle L.J. and Auntie Jodie chased and escaped from Sunny for hours!
Corinne buried Sunny's feet, which she loved. Then she returned the favor.

Beach house fun with her uncle and cousins.

Hiking from Seaside to Tillamook Head (Indian Beach).

We made it! What a strange pretend smile on Sunny...she's starting to smile when we ask.

Intense conversation.
She's never too tired to be mesmerized by Noah!
Evening marshmallow roast on the beach...life is good!

Sunny never lacks walking buddies.
Decisions, decisions at Cannon Beach Bakery. (We always get the poppyseed muffins and haystack cookies!)

She's a beach girl, she is.
A break while playing disc golf with Uncle Scott (and Daddy).
Sunny's 2nd birthday is themed around dinosaurs: it's "2-rassic!" (Thanks, Nauntie!) So we went to check out the animatronic dinos at the zoo. Sunny did great and didn't fuss or freak out, though Max later told me she kept repeating..."No? Noooo. No" in a low voice, unconsciously, as we met each new friend. Their teeth were impressive. The carnivore scene made the biggest impression on Sunny. She says, about 10 times a day, "The dinosaur was eating the other dinosaur." She also says, "Those dinosaurs spit on Mama" (they had water squirters), and "The dinosaurs had cameras in their mouths" (true -there were electronics in there - maybe motion sensors). "Remember t-rex?!"
And really, how could we forget this t-rex? Check her out! Her baby was nearby, but that didn't tone down the "yikes" factor for most of the other whimpering kids being dragged along under her jaws.
So awesome!!
Enjoying an archeological dig - an activity we'll feature in the sandbox at her birthday party.
She determined this was the "tooting dinosaur" since its weird roar sounds were quite convincing.
When she's happy, Sunny walks with her hands behind her back, just like Mama. It's silly to see these simple traits show up.
