The day of Mama JJ's Return from Bhutan!

From Kelly: We are all so excited to JJ to come back from her trip to Bhutan this evening. Sunny is beside herself (so excited that she's a bit fussy today), and she is going to stay up late so she is awake to go to the airport tonight. We are so glad J went on this adventure, and we are proud of her for going on her own. I'm sure she'll share some of the amazing stories and pictures from her trip in the next blog posting. Sunny has been enjoying recordings of JJ reading stories and singing songs every day, and she walks around saying "Mama misses you SO much," which is what J says to Sunny at the beginning of the CD.

We missed her like crazy, but here are some photos of the fun ways we tried to distract ourselves during her absence. (The pics at the top are from right before JJ left.) PS - A HUGE thank you to Grandma and Grandpa for their extended stay, Popo and Daddo, and everyone who pitched in extra Sunny love during these last few weeks! Max and I are extremely grateful, and have retained our sanity because of it. :)

The boys driving the cow train really cracked the whip, but we held on for dear life and Sunny loved it.

Early Mother's Day brunch Feast at Beast:
Since J was gone for Mother's Day, Max, Sunny, J, and I went to Beast for a Sunday brunch. IT WAS AMAZING. Sunny especially enjoyed the "fancy cheese" dessert course at the end. If you live in Portland and have not been to this restaurant yet, go!!

Rhubarb clafoutis with shaved praline bacon--what??

Mama and Sunny wait for the next course...
