We just returned from a great weekend in Monterey, CA where Sunny met her Great Grandpa Harrison. Sunny, Nauntie, Max and I flew down to San Jose to meet my parents, and together we drove south. This picture of a baby shark is from the San Jose airport - she was a crowd-pleaser, stomping from gate to gate and making "Hulk" noises.

Shark in the tub! Best $3.99 we've ever spent.

Out for an evening walk in the warm sun before returning to the drizzle of Portland.

Playing with Grandpa at a great little Greek restaurant we found.

80-foot McWay Falls plunges into Partington Cove @ Julia Pfieffer Burns State Park. Ponderous names for a fantastic find on the Big Sur coast. To perfect the scene, a sea otter was playing in the cove! Seriously. Driving Highway 1 was a treat - incredible views the whole way. We'll revisit it one day on a motorcycle, I'm sure.

We're told she'll be 16 "in no time."

The Pose, in another cool place.

Splashing in the cold, cold tidepools near Pacific Grove.

Sunny has Mama's big gap beside her big toes - monkey feet! They're good for tree climbing, going fast, wearing flip flops and picking stuff off the ground with your toes.

Mama's girl!

Babies @ the beach pictures - you can't have enough of them.

Independent, adventurous girl loves walks on the beach, seashell searching, seaweed tasting, sand throwing and spicy snacks. Looking for love and friendship from people who'll let her do this ALL DAY.

This is a real place - can you believe it?

And here's the real action behind a Sunny photo shoot. What a circus!

"Adventure is out there!"

The Boreing family and Sunny.

Sunny is FIRED UP to hang out with Grandma.

Nauntie caught a shark @ the Monterey Bay Aquarium, one of our favorite places on earth. It's impossible to get a bad photo there, and we could watch the sea otters play, the jellyfish dance, and the sharks swim all day. Sunny loved it all - she got so excited at the Outer Bay exhibit that she started doing her happy shrieks. A little boy about 3 years old turned to her and said, "Could you please stop doing that?! You're scaring me." Hee, hee. Sorry about that.

Magic!

Nauntie caught Sunny's reflection in the sea otter's body. Cool.
