Max snuggling his cuddly girls, Sunny-baby and
Chia.

Sunny and Jackson (11 weeks old) got to hang out yesterday. We loved seeing him and his mom, Betsy. Jack had lots to say in the cutest little voice. Sunny's sounds are really girlish - lots of high pitched beeps, pings and shrieks. Jack's lower coos and gurgles make a sweet contrast.
Brrrrrr: Hot
tubbing in 20-degree weather is an extreme experience for Sunny. We bundle her up more than the kid in A Christmas Story so she can float happily in her duck boat. She can't move, but she's warm and happy to just look around.

Sunny practices swimming with us in her bath, dipping underwater with no fuss. What a champ! Other new tricks include maneuvering her bottle into her mouth (she needs help propping it up) and "swimming" moves on her tummy as she prepares to crawl. She seems to understand some words and phrases, especially "kitty." No matter what her mood, a passing cat and its soft fur can snap her back to happy. Sunny is also into waving and banging motions. She raps her toys on the closest surface, pumps her arms up and down when she's excited, and rhythmically tugs hair (especially while nursing). Which led to this other discovery: she seems to understand "Ouch!"

We spent Saturday in
McMinnville @ the Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum (
http://www.sprucegoose.org/). The planes and rockets were so cool - we all learned a lot. Uncle Scott says this museum is better than the plane exhibit at the Smithsonian. We're lucky to have it so close. Sunny watched her first movie on the big screen: Fighter Pilot @ the
IMAX Theatre. Talk about a huge precedent: hopefully future movies will measure up!
how cute! i love that you guys take her extreme hot-tubbing :)
