Sunny is a great little traveler! We just returned from a B.C./Alberta odyssey. We headed north on 8/23 and reached home last night, to find an excited Uncle Scott awaiting us. He'd taken the BEST care of our fuzzy daughters (cats) while we were away, and he had food for us so we wouldn't need to cook. Is there a better friend?!
We had hiked through 5 national parks in Canada: Glacier, Yoho, Mt. Revelstoke, Banff and Jasper. We had Sunny on top of several summits...even on a glacier. Lots of hikers were impressed with how flexible of a traveler she is, and many more were impressed with Max's mountain goat skills - he carried her in a front carrier over tough trails. We took the Bob stroller where no stroller has been before--portaging over rocks and roots with Max hoisting the handle bar and me carrying the front wheel off the ground with a strap from our video cam. We were trying to give Max's back a rest, but some of our best workouts were getting the stroller through rough terrain.
We got to see Sunny's cousins twice (so fun, and THANK YOU for the comfy bed!) as we passed through Langley, and we were able to take our brother-in-law Dean out for a birthday breakfast.
1,907 miles later, we're happy to be home. Can't wait till the next adventure.
i'm so impressed! that pic of sunny smiling in the mirror and the one of her chubby little bare legs sticking out of the carrier in front of the waterfall are too cute. love all the special spots she's already been to!!
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing life Sunny is going to have...travelling to places other dream of. You guys are rad parents! We had so much fun with you, thanks for making the extra stops to see us. I meant to call you and tell you that when we parted ways at IHOP, Halle was in tears wishing you could have stayed longer...she told me that Max could just work with Daddy then we could have you and Sunny Bunny to ourselves everyday! I told her I liked her way of thinking! Love you guys so much...kisses to Sweet SunnY!
ReplyDeleteThe third picture scares me to no end. That would be the pic with the stroller perched on the edge of the cliff.
