Max made this beautiful toy box from scratch, and he finished it last night. First, he glued together sticks of black walnut that we recovered from an attic years ago. Then he cut the glued sheets into panels for the sides and top of the box. He sanded for hours and hours to get it baby-butt smooth, branded a special message ("For Sunny Kalona, Love Daddy") on the inside of the lid using a torch and heated nail, and oiled it up all pretty. What a special family heirloom - she'll treasure it always.

You are so incredibly talented Max, we are fortunate enough to have your first ever toy box that you made as a coffee table for us...and yes, we treasure it! What a gorgeous heirloom for Sunny to have to pass on for generations!
