Adventures in March

I think Sunny's favorite parts of gardening are: 1) double-fisting plants, and 2) using her shovel!

Old Chia's health seems to be in a downturn...but she gets more joy out of Sunny's companionship than anything else. When Sunny sleeps in later than 7:30 a.m. or naps longer than 3 p.m., Chia goes to her bedroom door and yowls like a banshee...and, of course, Sunny wakes right up.

We're getting maximum value out of our zoo membership - it's always fun, rain or shine.

Looks like Sunny's licking her lips about that tasty nectar the lorikeet gets to enjoy.
Happy girl - so pleased with her shovel and her fort! Thanks again, Bob and Janet!

Sunny's own pictures: "Want to hold the camera, PLEEEASE!?"...here are her feet.
(self portrait by Sunny)
Racing at Big Al's with Uncle Scott. She LOVES going bowling - she assumes it includes a visit to the arcade since we do both every time.
It was a special day when the big truck delivered Sunny's beach sand (complete with shells!) for her new sandbox. They also brought my veggie garden soil mix for the new front yard raised beds. I was super excitd, too. Thank you, Max, for a lovely re-landscaped front yard!

We like to walk down the street to meet Daddy as he rides home on the scooter.
Blowing bubbles with her nose - silly girl.
With my coloring, many people see a "mini-JJ" in Sunny. I'm starting to see more of Max's features - her eyes are almond shaped, and her lips are like his. When I drop the color out of photos, I think the similarities to Max become clear. Imagine her with brown eyes and hair...

Taking the dogs for a walk with Auntie Jodie and cousins...Jodie helped us out when Popo got really sick - thank you!. And Nauntie stepped up to help with Sunny every day, so I could still work. What great support we have!
Sunny sitting like Corinne, one of her idols.

More zoo fun...

As we were headed out, our next door neighbors Layne and Jackie were going into the zoo with grandson Joe. Portland somehow manages to feel like a small town. Joe came over to play this week and they had a blast together. They'd count "1-2-3!" for each other as they took turns using our little indoor slide.
I see lots of Max's features in these pics - maybe because the lighting drops the fair color out of Sunny's face?

Whoo-hoo! The new sandbox is in, and it's already getting lots of use.

Sunny loved playing with the electric cars at the Better Living show.

She thought this electric, single-wheel, gyroscopic motorcycle was awesome.

Modeling her new "googles" from Grandma.
Sunny likes some privacy when she poops in her diaper. She's still not interested in the potty, even when we offer special rewards and treats.

I think we'll need some motion sickness meds before watching THIS helmet cam footage.
Sunny now goes down the big slide all by herself. We still "spot" her as she climbs the stairs.
Her Uncle Scott made her week by showing up before bedtime and helping her brush her teeth and read bedtime stories. Max shot a cute video of Sunny pronouncing all her vegetables/fruits in the ABC book very carefully for Scott...she loves to impress him.
