Summer Solstice

"What is this strange, warm, bright wonderfulness? This is awesome. Ooh, it's on me! It's on my hands!"

It's here already - the longest day of the year. The sunshine showed up for a bit early this morning, and Sunny cruised right over to the warm puddle of light on the kitchen floor and started playing in it. She loved watching the sun hit her hands, and she developed her own shadow dances. That proves how gray the weather's been - sunshine is a toy! And she reminds me that when the weather clears, it's time to celebrate it, fast. We kicked off solstice with a walk to soak up some sun. Tonight Max returns from Hawaii - we need to celebrate with something cool...maybe we'll roast some marshmallows over our fire pit. Come on, summer - arrive & stay a while!
