We've had another fun week with our little buddy. Sunny can now sit up for a while without tipping over. We've been practicing this skill with her on the couch cushions. She can also reach out and grab objects she wants. And we got her into her high chair, though she looks so tiny in it. She loved being up high with a tray of toys to explore. Her favorite stuffed animal these days is a red panda from Grandma and Grandpa. She laughs and smiles and sucks on the red panda all the time. On Saturday we went to Sweet Home so Sunny could meet more of her family! Aunt Karen, Uncle Emery, and cousins Liz, Emma, and Charlie (and their friends) took us out to a nice lunch. It's always so special to see them. Sunny loved it when Emma played with her - she gave us lots of smiles before getting fussy at the restaurant.
Yesterday Scott and Max took me and Sunny to 2 new (for us) disc golf courses: Leverich Park in SW WA and Trojan Park down Hwy 30 in OR. It was great to get out in a dry spell, enjoy the fall colors, and beat them (for the first time ever) in a round of disc golf. Sunny just loves being outside.
We'd all needed a pick-me-up. Sunny's still not sleeping well. I got out our Baby Whisperer book last night, and with a few new tricks, she slept better than she has in over a week. A few times she awoke making her hungry sound, and I just gave her a pacifier and sat with her till she fell back to sleep. I need her to understand that Mama is NOT an all-night snack buffet. We'll see how things progress, but since our first night of new methods made such a difference, I'm optimistic that we'll have an 8-hour sleeper (again) within a week. It would be SO nice.
